Philips HS1 Infant SMART Pads Cartridge
The Philips HS1 Infant SMART Pads Cartridge is suitable for rescues of children and infants under the age of 8 years old or under 25kg/55lbs in weight. When fitted, the HeartStart HS1 recognises that the patient requires CPR and energy shock levels suitable for children under 8 years of age and automatically adjusts its guidelines and treatment accordingly.
The SMART pads cartridge contains 1 pair of electrodes and has clear pictorial positioning instructions. SMART Pads provide feedback to the AED, enabling it to adjust voice instructions to match your actions and pace. Their compact design makes them convenient to store within the carry case, while enabling rapid deployment when needed.
QmedAED recommends keeping extra sets of Child defibrillator pads nearby, especially in places where many children are present, to stay prepared for emergencies.

How to change your HeartStart Onsite AED Pads
To change the electrode pads for your Philips HeartStart OnSite HS1 AED:
- Slide the release latch at the top of the AED to the right to release it from the AED unit.
- Remove the wrapper from the new cartridge and place the bottom of the cartridge into the bottom of the cartridge compartment on the front of the AED.
- Press the top of the cartridge down so it snaps into place.
